Both events have been warmly received and supported by Stirling Council, local residents and visitors from across the UK and the Council is disappointed to see them removed from our events calendar.
However, our attention is very much on the bright future for events in Stirling and discussions are at an advanced stage to bring exciting, new sporting spectacles for all the community to the area, continuing our long-standing reputation as one of Scotland’s most cherished events destinations.
A Stirling Council spokesperson said: “This is obviously a disappointing decision but our focus is already very much on bringing new events to Stirling with new and existing partners.
“The staging of these events in Stirling has further showcased the area’s credentials and quality as a top-class destination for sporting events.
“We’ve already been contacted by organisations looking to bring new sporting events to the area, which would fulfil our dual aims to boost tourism and promote health and wellbeing through participation opportunities.
“Our thanks go to all partners for their work over the past three years.”
